Extension SozialRegion – Bad Schönborn

With Bad Schönborn and the introduction of both the Karlsruhe Children's Pass and the Karlsruhe Pass, the circle of municipalities participating in the SozialRegion expands to ten cities and municipalities on March 27, 2020. With the signing of the cooperation agreement by Detlev Huge, Mayor of Bad Schönborn, and Dr. Frank Mentrup, Lord Mayor of the City of Karlsruhe, the path to more participation in the region is clear for the residents of Bad Schönborn.

Expansion of the SocialRegion – Walzbachtal
On 17.03.2015, the municipality of Walzbachtal joined the Karlsruhe Children's Pass with the signing of the cooperation agreement by Karl-Heinz Burgey, Mayor of Walzbachtal, and Dr. Franz Mentrup, Lord Mayor of the City of Karlsruhe, in the presence of the Mayors of Stutensee, Klaus Demal, and Weingarten (Baden), Eric Bänzinger, which will be introduced in Walzbachtal on 01.04.2015.

Anniversary “Five years of SozialRegion” / Jubiläum

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the SozialRegion, the first municipality to join, the city of Stutensee, hosted a symposium on the SozialRegion. In addition to expert input and a panel discussion, the mayors of the participating cities and municipalities and representatives of the district signed a charter against poverty.

“Together against poverty” – festive reception of the stja / Empfang

Numerous supporters contribute to the Karlsruhe Pass and Karlsruhe Children's Pass with their own discounts, showing a heart for financially less well-off children and adults. This commitment is recognized with the "Label against Poverty", whose symbol is a fanned-out heart. On 06.03.2018, this label was presented to the secondhand stores of the Diakonie, the Kinderland St. Stephan, the Badisch Brauhaus, the Karlsruher SSC, the Budoclub and the MTV Karlsruhe at a reception hosted by the stja board member, Daniel Melchien.

Label against poverty – Modehaus Schöpf
One year of support of Karlsruhe Passport and Karlsruhe Children's Passport by the fashion store Schöpf: On this occasion, Mayor Martin Lenz awarded the owner, Dr. Melitta Büchner-Schöpf, the new "Label against Poverty", a sign of the joint participation of different actors in Karlsruhe in the fight against poverty, on 21.11.2017.
