On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the SozialRegion, the first municipality to join, the city of Stutensee, hosted a symposium on the SozialRegion. In addition to expert input and a panel discussion, the mayors of the participating cities and municipalities and representatives of the district signed a charter against poverty.
Numerous supporters contribute to the Karlsruhe Pass and Karlsruhe Children's Pass with their own discounts, showing a heart for financially less well-off children and adults. This commitment is recognized with the "Label against Poverty", whose symbol is a fanned-out heart. On 06.03.2018, this label was presented to the secondhand stores of the Diakonie, the Kinderland St. Stephan, the Badisch Brauhaus, the Karlsruher SSC, the Budoclub and the MTV Karlsruhe at a reception hosted by the stja board member, Daniel Melchien.
